An interesting journey of the book “About Lessik the Kitten, who dreamed of flying”

17 June 2012

A wonderful event has just happened in our gallery. A well-known metropolitan artist Oksana Todorova brought to Lviv her magic paintings and along with them an international project – the book “About Lessik the Kitten, who dreamed of flying”, where illustrations are the pictures created by Oksana specially for this project. This book is called to revive traditions of evening family book reading to children. In addition a touching and gentle lullaby, which had been written and executed by John Paul Leonne – an Italian singer and composer, filled the project with lyrical notes. The book has been published in three languages - Russian, Ukrainian and Italian.

Oksana Todorova was born in Odessa, the emotional painting of fairy characters is her artist style as well as objects of artworks. Her artistic force consists in creation of kind and positive heroes, effect of atmosphere ambience, naivety and purity. The artist creates a universe of her own, a small fantastic people, whose life is consonant to children's sensations and experiences. The images of her pictures convey eternal values of love, friendship, joy and involvement. The pictures of the painter do not only decorate children's rooms, but also develop imagination of the children, their creative potential.

Oksana writes: the love is an invaluable gift. It is the only present, which we can give, and still it would remain with us. Only in such environment of the peace, the love and the good a harmonious personality can be formed. And the basement of the future success of our children such as the communicating skills and the skill to listen and to hear oneself is laid in such moments. We can create this holiday of emotional affinity each evening, by reading children a fairy tale at bedtime. This book is an opportunity to develop imagination of your toddler and also to create a confidential relationship in your family. No material benefits can replace the warm-heartedness of personal communication. Love your children, the love never happens too much!

The fact that the artist has chosen the Art gallery of  Madam Palmgren for an exposition of her works, make us feel very proud as we consider Oksana’s project incredibly important in our century of modern working mums and permanently busy dads. Moreover we are very glad that visiting of gallery will become a fascinating travel to the world of painting even for the smallest judges due to presence of these solar artworks in our collection.
